How it began

Born From a Local Loss

Bakersfield Pet Crematory was established out of a deeply personal and tragic experience. In April 2021, K9 Jango, a courageous member of the Bakersfield Police Department, was killed in the line of duty while heroically protecting his handler during a foot pursuit. As we worked to honor Jango's legacy with a fitting memorial, we were shocked to discover that all pet cremation services were outsourced beyond Kern County. This realization ignited our mission to bring compassionate, local care to pet families right here in Bakersfield.

As a family-owned business with deep roots in Kern County, we are committed to providing respectful and professional cremation services that keep everything local. Every step of the process is handled here in Bakersfield, ensuring your beloved pet is treated with the care and dignity they deserve, close to home. "Hi, I'm Chris. Bakersfield has always been more than my hometown — it's where I built my life and my family. I spent over 24 years in Bakersfield law enforcement, including more than 8 years as a K9 handler, which gave me a deep appreciation for the bond between people and their animals. That's the same care and respect I bring to every family I serve today."
